This moment, right now, is when we live our life. ~ Sarah McLean
What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is fully engaging your attention in your moment-to-moment experience; basically, paying attention, on purpose, to what you are doing, while you are doing it... without judgment. Mindfulness can be practiced anytime, whether you are sitting quietly for a meditation session, reading this page, or going for a walk in nature. You can practice mindfulness by giving your full attention to any routine activity, even brushing your teeth!
What's the Big Deal About Being Mindful? When it comes right down to it, all we ever really have is the present moment. Life does not take place in the past or in the future; it is happening right now. This very moment is when your life is lived. All your thoughts, feelings, and sensations are experienced in the present moment. It's when you make choices, set intentions, make plans, take action, access your intuition, get inspired, feel your feelings, and even fall in love. Memories of the past or ideas about the future pale in comparison to the reality of the life you are living now.
Consider, what it trulyfeelslike, when you are in the moment: the sun on your skin, a child's arms around your neck, the softness of your cat's fur, the deliriously happy greeting from your family pet, the sound of the wind blowing through the pine trees, the smell of cookies baking in the oven, that big, fat snowflake on your tongue, this breathless kiss. All these things and a million others are right here in front of you.... simply waiting for you to notice.
